“LIQUID – SKY” Photo Competition
Theme: LIQUID ~ SKY
Praxis Gallery seeks the submission of photographic art that explores the ideas of liquid and sky in their myriad iterations; from landscapes to still life – from scientific to conceptual, Praxis seeks a broadly interpreted investigation of these forever flowing, forever ethereal ideas.
Awards:
At least fifty images will be selected by the juror for exhibition at Praxis Gallery. A Juror’s Choice, three Honorable Mentions, and a Directors Choice will be awarded and featured in the exhibition, the printed show catalog, and the online exhibit gallery. Juror’s Choice will receive free entry into three juried calls for entry of their choice and a complimentary exhibit book. Directors Choice will receive free entry into two juried calls for entry of their choice.
Image requirements: JPG format; 72 dpi; 1024 pixels or less on longest side; 4MB or less in file size. Selected photographers will receive instructions on uploading hi-res files to our online submission site.

Angles are everything in photography, and one of the most vital aspects to understand when learning how to take a better photo. Angles are what separate different photographers from the same subject. Only photographing a mountain from one angle will produce many similar images. Different angles create different feelings within frames. Most subjects, especially people, benefit from various angles and viewpoints. When taking better photos, try capturing five different and unique angles of the same subject. Simple subjects work best for this, such as a flower or a pet (if they are still enough!) Thinking of unique angles on basic subjects will immensely help in more stressful photographic situations in the future. Angles can be monumental when conveying stories or moods with imagery. Some DSLR cameras can process hundreds of shots a minute; think of all the possible angles that can be captured using that amount of ammunition.
