Darkroom Gallery Call for Entries: Curvilinear
Planar lines that wind, wend and soar through a image’s field of focus.
Curving components within a photograph give the image depth, allowing the viewer’s eye to move through the frame almost effortlessly. It is almost as if the photographer takes the viewer by the hand, draws them into the frame, and points the way. The viewer’s eyes are compelled to follow the line of the curvature. Curved lines are graceful, rhythmic, dynamic and add energy to an image. They can separate or connect elements or simply offer a balance to a photograph. Arches, circles, S curves and implied curves can be created by a variety of subject matter.
- All selected entries are exhibited in the gallery [15 Oct – 8 Nov 2015] and included in a full color exhibit catalog.
- Juror’s Choice receives a 30×48" vinyl exhibit banner featuring their image, free entry into a future exhibition and a free exhibition catalog.
