The aim of the prize is to stimulate observations in the field and an awareness of the aesthetic value of wildlife and hunting. Another aim is to suggest that the passion for hunting can find an expression in different ways – photography being another facet of a passion for wildlife. The competitions fulfil the function of a link between hunters and non-hunting lovers of wildlife. Wildlife photography is one of the best ways to show to a broader public the values and the necessity of hunting and wildlife management. It is for this reason the CIC seeks the participation also of non-hunting photographers to assist the CIC fulfil its goal for the conservation of nature and all its living creatures. For 2014, the CIC is looking for photos which depict astonishing or surprising situations of wildlife, which will startle the viewer.

  • The selected photographs will be exhibited during the 61st CIC General Assembly, from 24 – 26 April 2014

The Prizes will be awarded at the 61st CIC General Assembly in Milan, Italy, on 26th April 2014.

These must be submitted in 2 formats to a dedicated e-mail address – [email protected]: a copy identical to the camera copy (this copy will not be included in the evaluation for the contest); a copy of the version with which the photographer wishes to enter the competition (colour balance rectification etc. is permitted, but no montage). You can enter up to 3 photographs. Only photographs of wild animals, birds or mammals, alive and free in their natural environment can be accepted.
