Theme: Unreal: Fantasy, staged or constructed photography
With it’s roots in 20th Century Pictorialism (itself a construct of Alfred Steiglitz!), the contemporary constructed photograph is coming on strong in the 21st Century. Whether digitally created in Photoshop or shot "in-camera" on physical sets, constructed imagery strives to tell the stories that candid photography cannot.
Award:
- 35 to 40 works will be chosen from submitted photographs to be included in the Unreal exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles (Sept 10 – 24, 2011).
Image requirements: JPG format, 72 ppi, image size not to exceed 1024 pixels on the longest side. Accepted entries are expected to submit images in JPG format, 300-360 dpi, minimum size 5×7".
