• Copyright: Photographers retain all rights to their work except for submissions accepted for exhibition. Artists grant 1650 gallery the right to use accepted photographs to promote the exhibition, for display on the 1650 Gallery website and for inclusion in an exhibit catalog
• Entry fee: $25 for up to 5 images. Additional entries for $5 each.
• Entry deadline: 24th August 2011
• Who can enter: Open to all photographers, worldwide.

Theme: Unreal: Fantasy, staged or constructed photography

With it’s roots in 20th Century Pictorialism (itself a construct of Alfred Steiglitz!), the contemporary constructed photograph is coming on strong in the 21st Century. Whether digitally created in Photoshop or shot "in-camera" on physical sets, constructed imagery strives to tell the stories that candid photography cannot.

Award:

• 35 to 40 works will be chosen from submitted photographs to be included in the Unreal exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles (Sept 10 – 24, 2011).

Image requirements: JPG format, 72 ppi, image size not to exceed 1024 pixels on the longest side. Accepted entries are expected to submit images in JPG format, 300-360 dpi, minimum size 5×7".
