Self Portrait Photography Exhibition
Decode Gallery is pleased to announce April’s exhibition and the theme is: Self Portrait. The act of creating a self portrait is important for any artist, they allow for total creative expression. Self portraits reveal stories, It’s an exploration of identity, it’s an intimate glimpse into the life of the artist. As we explore image and personal identity, we gain insight into the life of the artist. We are looking forward to seeing your best self portrait photography.
At least 22 images will be selected by the juror for exhibition at Decode Gallery. The gallery handles all printing for accepted photographers for free
EXHIBITION DATES: Sept 9th – Oct 7th 2023
Online submission of digital images via the website.
Photographers will be notified by email of acceptance on March 28th. High Resolution JPGS will be due by March 30th.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS FOR YOU:
When you’re the photographer and the subject simultaneously, it isn’t easy to learn how to compose the image and focus correctly. That’s why using a mirror is one of the best ways to start; this way, you can be holding and controlling the camera as you pose. The tricky part is to find a way to do it creatively and not fall into all the mirror selfies and self-portrait cliches. On the other hand, that’s something that can happen in any photographic genre – you have to find your own voice.
