darkroom photo contestPhotographing the art of architecture; the anthropological implications of structural design. Construct is a challenge to you, the photographer to create your unique vision of the constructed environment. Photography has been, from its very inception in the 19th century, recording the human environment, both in its contemporary manifestations and in its past configuration. For Construct we’re not looking specifically for formal architectural photography, but rather for images of the built environment that evoke a sense of place and time, whether in the present or as a record of the past. Where do you see things being built up, being utilized, being torn down, or simply abandoned? Anything we humans have built on the earth is fair game in this challenge. What do you see when you look around you?
