For 2013, we’re going to ask you to capture more of a process than a thing. And it’s a process with which both you and your camera have a lot of experience: sensing the world around you.

Six photos (one in each category) will be selected through the “Public Vote” and six photos (one in each category) will be selected by the local jury and be sent to the global final. The Global jury will select six photos (one in each category) as Global Winners. Out of these six Global Winners, one will be selected as the Grand Winner. Grand Prize – Photo Expedition to Ghana, West Africa, in the first quarter of 2014.
The Global Grand winner will be announced November 4, 2013
You may only compete in one country. The participating countries are Finland, the Netherlands, Hungary, France, Italy, Portugal, the Czech Republic, Hong Kong, Canada, the USA, Mexico, Colombia, Guatemala, Equator, Chile, Sweden, Brazil and Peru. If you are not a resident of any of the Metro countries, you may still take part in the Challenge via the “International Section.”
Judging Criteria consist of the following factors:
- a) Fit and relevance
- b) Creativity
- c) Technical quality
- d) Overall impression
Image requirements: JPG format; under 12 Mb in file size. Only minor burning, dodging and/or color correction is acceptable, as is cropping. Other photo-editing techniques, such as HDR and stitched panoramas, collages and manipulating filters, can only be used in the “6th Sense” category.
