Photoaid Contest 2010 – You too a photo-reporter

The images can be in either colour or black & white. The theme is free but the style should reflect the direct and dynamic language of photo-reportage, heightened by an optimistic and sensitive approach, which is that specifically advocated by the agency Photoaid.

Prizes:

  • First place: The winner of the contest will have the opportunity to live a unique experience working alongside a PhotoAid photographer during a workof reportage abroad. The mission will take place before the end of October 2010 and will last from 6 to 8 days. All travelling and living expenses will be covered entirely by our Association. The winner will also receive a professional digital reflex camera (NIKON – D300S).
  • Second place: Scholarship for a course in Reportage named “Topic Session” organized by the Italian Institute of Photography (academic year 2010/2011).
  • Third place: Scholarship for a workshop on reportage in Tuscany organized by the PhotoAid Association (September and October 2010).

Number of photographs: We require the presentation of 10 pictures alongside a brief description of the work submitted (title of the project and a comment of maximum 15 pages) and a legend for each picture. Each competitor can only present one project. The reportage will not necessarily need have been performed over the last year. Colored or black-and-white photographs are allowed.

Submission of the photographs: All participants will have to mail their photographs in digital format and with low resolution. Color pictures or black-and-white pictures are required to have the following technical characteristics: JPEG file, 72dpi quality, maximum 1.024 pixel format. The original format is not binding, it can be either negative, positive or digital. Alternatively, candidates can also mail their photographs in printed form (maximum size of 20×30 cm) to the following address: Photoaid, via Giovannino de Grassi 11 – 20120 Milano – Italia.
