Theme: "What’s New Pussycat"

Cats… love ‘em or hate ‘em, they surround us. They rule our world with a furry sharp-clawed fist. They allow us to live with them — as long as we abide by their rules. Step out of line, and you will feel their wrath. So what’s new, pussycat? This month 1650 investigates the fascinating world of this complex and fascinating creature… THE CAT, as only you can show it. So don’t pussy out — grab your camera and get to work!

Award:

40-45 works will be chosen from submitted photographs to be shown in the WHAT’S NEW PUSSYCAT? exhibition at 1650 Gallery in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Image requirements: JPG format;, 72 ppi, image width up to 1024 pixels on the longest side.

Online submission. All accepted entries must submit a high res jpegs to be included in the printed catalog. E-mail JPGs and an application form to 1650gallery@gmail.com All accepted entries must submit a high res jpeg (300-360 dpi , minimum size 5×7") to be included in the printed SHOW CATALOG.

Copyright: Photographers retain all rights to their work except for submissions accepted for exhibition. Artists grant 1650 gallery the right to use accepted photographs to promote the exhibition, for display on the 1650 Gallery website and for inclusion in an exhibit catalog.
Eligibility: Open to all photographers worldwide.
Entry fee: $25 for the first 5 images, $5 for each additional image.
Entry deadline: 13 February 2012
