There are four solely amateur categories this year:
- People,
- Wildlife,
- Landscape,
- Festivals.
Each category winner, plus a companion, will be flown to South Australia in 2008 on a photographic commission, courtesy of the South Australia Tourism Commission. The winner will also receive Rohan gear worth £250 and a Nikon camera worth £200. Runners-up will each receive a Nikon digital SLR worth £400.
Photography professionals have the chance to enter the Portfolio category (which is also open to amateurs). The winner of the Portfolio category will receive £5,000. A runner-up and highly commended entrant will each win a Nikon camera.
