• Copyright: The copyright to the images remains the property of the author of the images., Photographer grants all rights in perpetuity to the U.S. Naval Institute to reproduce, display, publish, distribute, create derivative works of submissions while crediting the photographer.

Awards:

1st Prize — $500 + U.S. Naval Institute Membership
2nd Prize — $250 + U.S. Naval Institute Membership
3rd Prize — $100 + U.S. Naval Institute Membership

The requirements are simple: photographs can cover any subject and should pertain to the Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Merchant Marine, or the sea itself. Any individual, military or civilian, is eligible to enter.

Image requirments: minimum of 300 dpi preferred, tiff or jpg. No photo manipulation except color enhancement and cropping.

Maximum of five submissions per person. Online submission of digital images via the website.
