2016 National Juried Photo Encaustic ExhibitionPhoto Encaustic images can be defined as “where photographs meet hot beeswax, pigments, texture, and experimentation”. The image can be the entire piece or partially incorporated, but all work must include a photograph either adhered to the substrate, printed on a non-traditional paper and embedded, or a photo transfer.

Awards:

  • First Place: $300
  • Second Place: $100
  • a group show at Sage Gallery in Portland, Oregon (June 2 – 29, 2016)

Judge: Clare O’Neill

Image requirements: sRGB or RGB color space (standard) – not CMYK; 72 dpi resolution, flattened layers, 8 bit JPG files; 1280 pixels on the longest side, the other size width or height proportional; JPG compression at level 7 (medium).

Online submission of digital photographs via the website. Judging criteria: originality, technical excellence, composition, overall impact and artistic merit. There is no limit to the number of images that may be submitted.
