This contest was created to showcase the recovery of the American bald eagle population, through pictures of our nation’s symbol thriving in the wild.

Winners announced September 7, 2014.

Image requirements: a height or width of 1,400 pixels minimum; No watermarks. Minor adjustments for color balance and sharpness only; no modified backgrounds or artificial vignettes.

No photos of eagles held in captivity or baited. Only one photograph entry per person allowed.

Judging criteria: composition, lighting, image quality, and overall visual appeal.
