“The Decisive Moment” Photo Exhibition
Theme: The Decisive Moment: Documentary and Street Photography
This juried group photography show at Black Box Gallery will focus on documentary and street photography. Documentary photography is often truthful, objective, descriptive and usually candid photographs of a particular subject or reality, either personal or social. Street photography is often candid situations within a public place, with a reference to social and cultural settings with an emphasis on timing and framing. Such notable photographers of these two genres are Lee Friedlander, Joel Meyerowitz, Mary Ellen Mark, Henri Cartier Bresson, Eugene Atget and Robert Frank. Where does contemporary photography come into play redefining visual communication in the photographic lens of the then and now?
