“Illusion and Chemistry” Photo Exhibition

For Illusion and Chemistry: The Alternative Process, the Kiernan Gallery seeks images that use any alternative processing technique for any idea you wish to express.

Any photographic print created as a product of a non-traditional process is eligible. Processes may include but are not limited to: Albumen, Bromoil, Cyanotype, Daguerreotypes, Gum Bichromate, Platinotypes, Salt Prints, Temeraprints, Tintypes, Wet Plate Collodion. Hybrid or Combination images incorporating conventional (including digital) processes with handcrafted applications are also eligible. Conventional techniques such as Silver Gelatin, Digital, and C-prints are not eligible.

Awards:

  • 30 images will be exhibited in The Kiernan Gallery in Lexington, Virginia (January 10 – February 4, 2012). Up to an additional 40 images will be selected for exhibition in the online gallery. 
  • All selected works will be published in a full color exhibition catalogue available for purchase from Blurb Books.

Image requirements: JPG format; 72 ppi; sRGB color profile; less than 1024 pixels on the longest side.
