- Junior student (up to 12 years old)
- Senior student (13 to 17 year olds)

Prizes:
- Junior student – the winning student’s school will receive AUD $1,000, and the winning student will receive a digital camera and iPod shuffle. Finalists receive an iPod shuffle
- Senior student – the winning student’s school will receive AUD $1,000, and the winning student will receive a digital camera and iPod shuffle. Finalists receive an iPod shuffle
- Open – the winner will receive a digital SLR camera, with finalists receiving a digital camera
Winners will be annouced on 11 November 2011. Entrants are allowed to submit up to three photographs. Image requirements: JPG or TIFF format. The photographs must be taken between 1 July 2010 – 8 August 2011. Only online submission.
Judging criteria:
- The portrayal of themes, e.g. the importance of water, the need to conserve it for the future, or its value to communities worldwide.
- Photographic quality – composition, visual impact, creativity and artistic quality, technical competence
