Theme: SPLASH – The Fluid World of Water

Water… is there any thing else on earth like it? Seemingly plentiful, yet precious and scarce. It falls from the sky only to hurry beneath the earth. It’s transience confounds us, here today yet gone tomorrow; literally vaporizing into thin air like youth, innocence and physical beauty. Water! A bundle of contradictions that would make Ralph Waldo Emerson proud.

This month 1650 Gallery invites you to flush the bilge water from your mind and dive into the deep end for an ocean of fun. Freud said sometimes a cigar is just a cigar, but Christie Brinkley in a moonlit motel pool is a whole other thing altogether. So bathe your soul in the stormy sea of photographic creativity, and remember that although a river runs through it, it is but a drop in the bucket compared to the ocean of possibilities that rain down upon us all.
