• Copyright: Artists retain full rights to their work. The Kiernan Gallery requests use of selected images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition and subsequent display as thumbnails on the website.
• Entry fee: $25 for the first 5 images, $5 per additional image
• Entry deadline: 27th December 2011
• Who can enter: Open to all photographers worldwide.

Theme: "Family Dynamics"

From formal portraits to snapshots, family pictures adorn our homes more than any other type of photograph. Images of family reveal personal connections as well as emotional distances. They are historical records, containing both facades and truths. The definition of family is a personal one, and for Family Dynamics, The Kiernan Gallery welcomes images that break with tradition or embrace it, whether the family is yours, someone else’s, or one to which you have chosen to belong.

Awards:

• 30 images will be exhibited in The Kiernan Gallery in Lexington, Virginia (February 6 – March 4, 2012). Up to an additional 40 images will be selected for exhibition in the online gallery. 

Submit digital images by email or mail on a CD. There is a limit of 10 images that you may submit.

Image requirements: JPG format; 72 ppi; sRGB color profile; less than 1024 pixels on the longest side.
