• Copyright: The photographers maintain full copyright to their photographs and grant licence to use images for promotion of this contest.

Theme: A Story In Three Photographs

The theme encourages the photographer to assemble a group of three photos linked by a narrative thread. The story being told could be about an event depicted in the series, the illustration of a span of time, a creative interpretation of a single subject, the depiction of a worker’s day unfolding, a triptych or any set of three pictures that the photographer feels conveys the arc of a story.

Awards:

• $500 for first place
• $300 for second
• $200 for third
• Winning photos, plus additional images selected by the judge, will appear in the Center’s journal, Railroad Heritage; in the magazine Railfan & Railroad; and in an exhibition at the California State Railroad Museum.

You must submit THREE images. One image must have been taken during 2007-2010. There is no date requirement for the other two images. Please RESIZE your files to 1024 pixels in the larger dimension. Save as high-quality JPEGs.
