Hear the World educates on the consequences of hearing loss and informs people about the solutions that are available. To celebrate hearing, and to illustrate how essential it is to our experience of the world around us, judges from Hear the World and Digital SLR Photography Magazine are looking for an original photograph that best depicts The Joy of Sound. The finalists’ images will be considered the most original, visually appealing and self-explanatory – capturing the joy that our sense of sound can bring.

• 1st prize – Nikon D3000 Kit and 32Gb iPod Touch
• 2nd prize – S3000 Coolpix camera and 32Gb iPod Touch
• 3rd Prize – S3000 Coolpix and 8Gb iPod Touch
• 4th Prize – 8Gb iPod Touch
• 5th prize – 8Gb iPod Touch

Although the winning entry will be selected by the official judges, all entries are open to public vote in the gallery. The nine images with the most votes at the end of the competition will receive runner-up prizes, and a selection will appear alongside the winner in Digital SLR Photography Magazine. Entries should be submitted online. Entries must be labeled with the entrant’s name and image files must be 300 dpi and over 1MB. Entrants should include their own name, address and telephone number.
