Basically you give up all rights to your photograph just by submitting it to this contest. The photo can be used in any and all ways without you getting a penny for it. If this isn’t a rip off than I don’t know what is. No artist should agree to this type of copyright and Verbatim should be ashamed of themselves.

So, Just by entering my photo in this contest Verbatim can use and manipulate it in any way they choose for as long as they choose without compensating me for it . Why would any artist, amateur or professional, enter this contest with this rip-off of a copyright? This is an exploit! …and why are such posts being censored. As the previous post had mentioned (before it was taken down) “Verbatim should be ashamed of themselves”. …and the moderator/owners of this site should understand that the exploitation of artists work should not be tolerated. Your site will become much more successful if you do stand up to or even exclude these rip-off contests from your listings instead of censoring the artist. This way your site will earn the respect of serious amater and professional photographers as a legit source of fair and respected contests.
Eve, I never censor comments that raise the copyright issue! Please note that I mainly agree with you and that is why I add the copyright description of every contest I list. Then an artist is able to decide for him/herself whether or not he/she wants to enter. While some will be put off, I believe some (for who the copyright issue is of lesser concern) will enter.
