To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the original M.I.L.K. competition, M.I.L.K. Licensing (now a subsidiary of PQ Blackwell), again in association with Elliott Erwitt, is conducting a new competition founded on the themes of friends, families, lovers and laughter to create a new collection of 150 images. The 150 winning images will be published in a new book entitled Fresh M.I.L.K.: Friends, Families, Lovers & Laughter in Fall 2009, and on selected licensed products.
We are seeking outstanding images (electronic only, no prints) that capture authentic, spontaneous and humorous moments shared between friends, families and lovers around the world. The content of the images submitted should possess some or all of the following characteristics:
- Images that celebrate friendship, family and love.
- Images that tell stories and convey real emotion.
- Images that evoke a humorous response.
- Technical quality.
The prize pool is US$125,000 in cash. As required by New Zealand law, M.I.L.K. will pay withholding tax on behalf of the winners. The actual amount of withholding tax will vary slightly according to the country of residence of the ultimate winners. This arrangement may have tax advantages for winners.

- 1 Grand Prize Winner: US$50,000
- 150 General Prize Winners: US$500

Entries should be uploaded to the website as instructed on or before the closing date. Simply log onto the website and follow the online instructions to upload images from your computer. Once your entry has been received you will receive an email confirmation. Only electronic entries will be accepted.
Entry images must be electronic and uploaded to the website during the entry process. No prints will be accepted. Online submissions must be RGB or Grayscale jpegs at a maximum file size of 2MB each. Entrants may set their own DPI and image size but should bear in mind that the judges will view all images on a computer screen. If your image is chosen as one of the general winners you will be notified and asked to upload a high resolution 300dpi file.
